Takamine’s Newest Guitar Boasts Hand-Laid Fingerboard Inlays
Takamine has revealed a limited-edition ‘Peace’ acoustic guitar, made entirely by hand at Takamine’s design and manufacturing facility in Sakashita, Japan.
The Takamine LTD-2020 Peace is an auditorium-sized acoustic-electric guitar that employs a solid Sitka spruce top with a semi-translucent Green Tea finish that reveals the grain of the spruce. The guitar features solid ovangkol back and sides, paired with a mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. One significant feature of the LTD-2020 is its hand-laid fingerboard inlays,
which take the form of various doves and olive branches. In terms of electronics, the guitar uses Takamine’s Palathetic pickup coupled with their CT4-DX preamp which comes with integrated tone-shaping and tuning controls.
Also making their debut are two dreadnought-shaped guitars, the EF341DX and the 12-string EF381DX. Both guitars feature a solid spruce top along with maple back and sides. The mahogany neck comes with a rosewood fingerboard that features Takamine’s iconic diamond inlays. Other upscale appointments include abalone purfling, abalone rosettes and Gotoh tuners with pearloid buttons. Both the EF341DX and EF381DX will come stage-ready with CT4BII electronics.
